Jerzy Baranowski

I do not disregard colour, I just put the shape and texture first and for the moment I forgot about it. Interesting textures arouse in me the desire to touch them, at the same time I observe how they reflect the light and stroke the uneven surface with my fingers. The external light penetrates into the world of the painting, it somehow becomes a part of it. The flat, monochromatic composition comes alive and under the influence of external lighting, it develops a three-dimensional depth.
